WW – Brad Paisley Concert

Okay, so this won’t be entirely wordless, I have to add a few words to this post.
First of all, the concert was AWESOME! It really was quite the show.

Why, yes I do think Brad Paisley has this right.  As we were heading in, a rather drunk guy was being escorted out.

Opening song - looked like he was climbing out of a pool

I just love this shot.

Out in the crowd...in the cheap seats...near us!!

Impressive screen technology!

Rocking in the crowd!

For those of you who don’t now Brad Paisley, he sings this really great song, “Whiskey Lullaby” with Alison Kraus.  Well he performed the song at the concert and when Alison is supposed to start singing in the song she “appeared” on stage.  The effects were so good, up to the very last note of the song Hubby and I were trying to figure out if she was in fact there or not.  The image was so clear and perfect, the spotlight was “on” her and there were shadows.  It was incredibly well done.  And when she got up to leave at the end of the song…there was no one there!

Last song...all 5 opening acts came out...yes 5!

We were only able to make it to Brad Paisley, but when do you get to see 5 opening acts.  If the H2O tour comes to your area I highly recommend going, even if you aren’t as lucky as we were with our ticket price.  $10!  That’s what we got them for back when we went to the Sugarland concert.  It was definitely worth it, and I can now say I would have easily paid the full price and then some.  Paisley himself played for just short of 2 hours.  Worth every penny!!

Also being linked up here and here, among other places that I really need to remember to copy over to here.

It’s your turn…come share your WW with me. I’ve enjoyed having everyone join up, it’s been fun watching more and more of you stop by to join in on the fun.

GW Boutique Still Rocks

I have made less and less visits to the Goodwill over the past few years.  The reason is really quite simple, I have found them to be rather greedy now with some of their prices.  I used to visit all the time when I first started teaching.  That is the main reason why I have such a ridiculously large classroom library.  Six or seven years ago kids books were no more than $1.  Now I’m lucky if I can get them for $1.99. Granted I have splurged on a few books over the past year or so, but certainly not to the same extent I used to.

I have been reading so many really awesome DIY blogs lately that I decided to dip the toe back into the GW water and see what I could find.  There have been some pretty good treasures.  Some, I saw, but missed out on…IKEA Poang chairs for $20!  Man, I wish I had been there in time for those!!  I have found some pretty great wool sweaters, which will be featured here as soon as I get the chance to finish the job.  (At the rate I’m going…summer sounds good).

This weekend I was happily surprised again in my visit to the GW boutique.  You see my MIL collects miniature spoons, as we feed the collection on our roadtrips, to the point that the two racks she has are filled.  These racks are hard to come by now – so are the spoons, but we always manage to find a few.  Well, I found a rack in amazing condition and was happy to pay the $4.99 for it.  I could not even begin to make the rack for that price. Of course that assumes I would even begin to attempt such a venture. ;)

My second find…a nearly new copy of “The Book of Negros.”  I didn’t want to pay full price (or Costco price) just in case I didn’t like it, but since so many people are raving on about it, I figured the $3.99 price tag was okay.

Finally, and this one I am very happy about.  I found a brand new set of “Set” cards!  If you have no idea what I am talking about, first I have to ask, why not?  Then I’ll tell you, you really must visit this site and see what it’s all about.  I may just have to even spend the $2.99 for the iPhone app.  Which by the way is more than I paid for the deck of actual cards.

And that ladies and gentlemen is why the GW Boutique still rocks. Or rocks again.
